Food Pantry Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Pantry Welcome/Check-In Desk - TRAINING REQUIRED. Welcome our neighbors with your smile and positive attitude. Help check them into our database to track our service.
  • Pantry Volunteer - Escort our neighbors through the pantry and help them pick out items for their family. Also help keep the pantry stocked and cleaned. This is a fun and easy shift that allows you to meet and get to know our neighbors.
  • Pantry Stocker - Help move food into the pantry and the stockroom. This will require some lifting, up to 50 pounds!!
  • Albertsons Pick Up - TRAINING REQUIRED, Schedule a training by emailing pantry@dscrc.org prior to registering. Rescued food from Albertsons keeps our shelves full. We pick up from 2 different Albertsons stores between 8-9am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Pick up where the trucks deliver the food (the receiving area), and meet with the "receiver" who will get us our pick up. Upon delivery to the pantry, each box is weighted and items are stocked directly into the pantry.


Support Program Volunteer Opportunity:

  • Network Table Champions - There are many neighbors who have non-food needs and we have a team of dedicated volunteers to walk alongside individuals or families experiencing poverty, hardship, or major life transitions. Champions help neighbors move from crisis toward stability and self-sufficiency. Champions will commit for one year, work in pairs, dedicate 5-7 hours/month, and participate in biweekly 90 minute meetings with their table.
